Fr Robert Llewelyn was a mathematics master and briefly chaplain of
Westminster School, the missionary head of three overseas schools and
finally a much-read authority on the medieval mystic Julian of Norwich. His
work was recognised by the Templeton Foundation and even more by the number
of enquirers who visited him in Norwich. He was Vice-President of the
Churches Fellowship for Physical and Spiritual Studies and Chaplain of the
Julian Shrine. He was one of those who saw the limitations of the old image
of an angry and judgmental male God. He was a shrewd and experienced
ecumenist, comfortable with the depths of faith in many forms of religion.
